Session Description 

By now we have all heard about the coming of AI to our future and workplace. Almost no industry or business will be spared the impact of AI. In this talk we will: a) define what exactly AI and Machine Learning are and b) examine its implications for several industries like education, medicine, law, manufacturing, etc. We will conclude with a strategy for embracing AI without losing our souls in the process.  

About the Speaker:

Dr. Davis has served as professor of computer science at Del Mar College since 1983.  His tenure covers 42 years, 126 semesters and more than 10,500 students taught.  His current research includes serving as senior researcher for the $40m AI Institute for Environmental Science funded by the National Science Foundation.
