Maricela Arce is the Program Specialist for the state’s prepaid tuition plan, The Texas Tuition Promise Fund®. Maricela was hired in 2008 at the program’s inception and developed the program’s initial marketing strategy. Since then, she has continued her support in growing the program. Her expertise is in developing and executing a comprehensive marketing plan including printed material, procuring media spots and a grassroots approach to reaching parents.
Prior to her work at the Comptroller, Maricela worked in the media industry for over 15 years. She gained communications experience including television production, editing and on-air talent. She has been able to implement these skills to promote the state’s programs in the general and Hispanic markets.
Maricela is originally from Puerto Rico and is fluent in Spanish. She moved to San Antonio where she attended the University of the Incarnate Word and received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Journalism. In her spare time, Maricela loves to travel and spend time with her family.

In this session we provide an overview of the Texas Tuition Promise Fund and information on different tuition unit types, tuition redemption values and payment options.
