Session Description
Domestic violence is unfortunately a widespread issue, but what happens when it affects the workplace?
In this session, Alyssa and Graciela will explore the impact of domestic violence on employees, highlighting how it can manifest and its potential effects in the workplace. They will also discuss the resources and support options that employers can offer their staff, along with policy examples to help assist survivors.
About the Speaker:
Community Educator, Alyssa Herrera has been with the Purple Door for six months as a Community Educator, where she continues to expand her knowledge and expertise. Together with Graciela Vasquez, these two educators serve all 12 counties, addressing a wide range of topics related to the intersection of domestic violence and community issues.
Community Educator, Graciela Vasquez is a dedicated Community Educator with six years of experience at the Purple Door. She spent the first four years providing advocacy services in Jim Wells County, and for the past two years, she has used those experiences to focus on community education, working to raise awareness and support for those impacted by domestic violence.
