HELP ME HR!

My Team CAN Work Together:

Using the Five Functions of an Effective Team!

Presented by:

Dr. Marco Garza

University of Texas Rio Grande Valley

Dr. Garza currently serves as the principal owner of the Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI) where he collaboratively supports New HR Managers, HR Departments of 1 and In House HR Teams. He is also the founder of the Texas Education Institute, a nonprofit organization that provides workforce preparedness training in HR Generalists and Talent Development Professionals.

Session Description:

Teams can struggle to accept responsibilities and come to any agreements, resulting in negative morale. Throughout the five dysfunctions of their team become evident, absence of trust, fear of conflict, lack of commitment, avoidance of accountability and inattention to results. In this session, the The Five Dysfunctions of a Team will be reviewed help HR Leaders outline the root causes of politics and dysfunction on the teams and the keys to overcoming them. Counter to conventional wisdom, the causes of dysfunction are both identifiable and curable. However, they don't die easily. Making a team functional and cohesive requires levels of courage and discipline that many groups cannot seem to muster.
