Award-winning television personality Mrs. Liza Mucheru Wisner is a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Talent Development Expert, Workforce Optimization Keynote Speaker, and was a top 3 finalist on the television show, “The Apprentice” on NBC. Mrs. Wisner serves her community as the Senior Curator of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives at OpenSesame, on a mission to develop the world's most productive and admired workforces. She leads strategic initiatives for more inclusivity in human capital services and works directly with many organizations to make their products and services connect better with their teams and their community. Mrs. Wisner grew up in Nairobi, Kenya, and ventured to the United States on a golf scholarship representing Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s golf team. She previously won the Kenya National Championship title and represented Kenya at regional and international championships. Mrs. Wisner began her social entrepreneurial journey as the founder and principal of Texas Techies and PowerUp.org, successful organizations, which deliver Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education to economically disadvantaged communities. She expanded her organizations globally and now includes innovations such as mobile entrepreneurship labs, animation programming competitions, youth leadership camps, and diversity and inclusion workshops for kids. Her mission is to end “Technology Poverty” by bridging the digital divide. Mrs. Wisner is a Coastal Bend CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) partner, Corpus Christi Metro Ministries Ambassador, Junior Achievement Volunteer, Girls Scouts Board Member, and a Magna Cum Laude National Scholars Honor Society member. She received the Texas A&M University’s Employee Excellence Award, the Corpus Christi Black Chamber of Commerce’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the Kenya Monitor Newspaper Jamhuriwood Ambassadorship Award, and was awarded a Certificate of Commendation from the City of Corpus Christi Mayor and City Council for community advocacy and technology integration efforts. In 2014, Mrs. Wisner was named “Corpus Christi Under 40 Person of the Year.” Mrs. Wisner graduated with the highest honors, Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi earning a master’s degree of Science in Educational Technology, along with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a minor in Management of Information Systems.
