The project concept was based on improving the education program contract with the local school district and city after hearing feedback from the teachers. After researching and consulting the volunteer educators they were able to create a new program that increased STEM education through a 3D film and hands on activities. To measure the success of this project, they have sent out google surveys out after the completion of each visit. So far the verbal feedback from teachers has shown to be incredibly positive.

BEST CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY STRATEGY

Charlie's Place

Charlie’s Place Recovery Center made a conscious decision to do something about the opiate crisis within our own community and change the narrative for so many lives in South Texas. Staff were trained and conducted research into the risks and benefits of naloxone distribution, ultimately arriving at the conclusion that we had a corporate social responsibility to our community, to our neighbors and families, to not only change lives, but to save lives. As a result, Corpus Christi has one of, if not the only, Recovery Support Services program in Texas that is distributing lifesaving medication at no cost to patients.

Due to a recent reorganization, there has been improved communication with hiring managers before, during, and after a position has vacated.  Managers now receive a one-on-one meeting before a job posts which explains the responsibilities of both HR and the manager for the hiring process.  Feedback has been extremely positive and it has helped the managers know what to expect of the hiring process from the very beginning.

The name DNA Upgrade was selected because a change of this magnitude was akin to completely altering our core fabric or our DNA. After a year of meeting with vendors and exploring a myriad of options, it became clear that both our online banking tools and app in addition to our in branch systems needed to be converted. The DNA Upgrade had two key milestones – one was the roll out of our new member online banking which happened in April of this year. Along with a marketing plan that had started a year prior the HR team worked in conjunction with operations and training to ensure we had staffing to handle the incoming member calls expected related to the change.
